Company Overview

Thank you for your interest in Cefn Smithy, a garage that specializes in selling used cars, based in Newport, South Wales.
Although motor cars have changed beyond recognition over the past 50 years as technological advances have taken hold, the basic principles on which we run our business have not.

We believe that if we look after our staff and our customers with a fair-minded and courteous approach then loyal and mutually beneficial relationships develop. As a result we have many customers who have bought five, six or even seven cars from us and remain loyal to this day.

We have been established at this location for more than 30 years selling quality used vehicles to the public.

Our success can be attributed to:

• Having our own workshop and MOT testing station on site which allows us to offer an excellent after sales service.


• No salesmen and therefore no pressure selling. Customers may browse at their leisure and will receive the personal attention of one of the two partners.

Company History

Cefn Smithy has been a modern petrol station from 1967, having been taken over by Roy Elwick in 1973, and then Ken Barclay joined with Roy Elwick in partnership in 1983. Since then the business has been run as a Petrol Station, Workshop, MOT Station, Car Wash etc until January 2005 when the petrol side was closed to improve the car sales side of the business.

Both partners continue to run Cefn Smithy together.

James Whatley started of as an apprentice here in 1991 at the age of 16, he is still with us to this day now as our Workshop Foreman.

Warranty

We offer a three months Cefn Smithy personal warranty with every car or a 12 months extended warranty on request of the customer. Prices are available on purchase of your new car from Cefn Smithy.

Finance

As a independent company we are able to offer a wide selection of finance houses which will give our customers the best deal at the time of purchase of there new car from Cefn Smithy. Written quotations on request.
